Action Plan: Campaign Next Steps...

The PCOY Campaign is composed of an open and transparent coalition of individuals and organizations. It is sponsored by the Global Youth Action Network (GYAN) and a growing list of organizations and individuals, managed by an Action Team, and supported by an Advisory Group.

At this time the Campaign is an entirely volunteer run effort. The first steps will be to:

1. Expand the team, advisory group, and coalition. (We need volunteers! Please contact us if you're interested.)

2. Produce community, school and campus organizing kits to help youth, students, and teachers spread the word of the campaign in local communities, organizations, and educational insitutions as well as and online.

3. Produce a press kit to give journalists background about the need for a commission, facts and figures about young people, and to paint a vision of what the commission could be.

4. Publish a 100-days-agenda for the Obama administration, as a sample product of the Commission, were it to exist today.

5. Build a national as well as a global grassroots network to support the campaign.

6. Develop a speakers bureau of teens, twenty-somethings, youth experts, and elder allies that can represent the campaign and the cause of young people and intergenerational partnership.

7. Offer technology resources to campaign participants in the form of a brainstorming platform, wikis, blogs, and links that are relevant.

8. Exploring political support.

9. Fundraising a startup budget.
